Two fifty somethings who knew each other since secondary school bump into each other at Luton Airport in the run up to Christmas while waiting for a flight home to Ireland which is delayed. They both live on the opposite side of the same rural town. Danny is a writer on his way home from a book launch while Katie works in the Credit Union. She has just visited her sister. Danny has a seat secured but Katie is on a standby list and is trying to get home to organise her son’s twenty-first birthday party.
While they wait, they reminisce about their school days and stories of unrequited love emerge. Will past hidden feelings be revealed, now that they are older, mature and both seemingly happily married?
