DREAMS AND AMBITION HAVE NO LIMIT

My name is Seamus D Norris.

Welcome to my personal website which primarily promotes the output of my hobbies, especially my Writings which vary from one-act to full length plays, poetry, song lyrics, short stories, novellas and novels where the story is very important.

Interest from Publishers, Drama groups, producers and even film-makers is always welcome.  Please get in touch.

It is also somewhere to check out my GAA Coaching expertise

I am a storyteller. I love to write stories. I love a good, entertaining and interesting story. The  stories come from my exciting and vivid imagination, mainly revolving around Sport, Westerns, Romance and Crime or are Irish themed, based on dramatised versions of my own life experiences. The stories range from drama to comedy, and I use multiple formats of novels, novellas, plays of all lengths, short stories, and poetry to tell interesting and important stories.

I have had one-act plays performed in the Macra Na Feirme drama competition and during the COVID lockdown, a short play streamed by Barnstorm Theatre Arts which was later performed live. A number of plays have had rehearsed readings and development. I have had short stories and poetry published in various publications. I dream of more exposure of my work.

I am also an avid sports fan and in particular GAA Sports where I have vast coaching experience in Hurling, Gaelic Football (Men’s and Ladies) and Camogie. Being from Kilkenny, hurling is my number one and favourite sport, I am also a long time supporter of Liverpool FC. I played competitive Hurling, Soccer and Gaelic Football for over thirty years and am now back playing social hurling. I continually develop my coaching philosophy from a GAA point of view using practical statistics to support the innovative and imaginative systems and structure.

On the administration side of voluntary organisations such as the GAA, Macra Na Feirme in the past and the Church, I am very well versed in the areas of public relations, planning and delivering projects for the community, club or team where my organisational and leadership skills are among my many strengths.

My professional career has almost totally revolved around Information Technology where I have 40 years’ experience working mainly with business applications having worked for major international companies such as Merck Sharp & Dohme, Prime Computers, Waterford Crystal and currently Glanbia PLC.  The skills I have developed as a Business Analyst are frequently and invaluably used in my sports interests and conversely the people skills I have developed working with all kinds of people but especially young people have served me well in my job.
